DirectX 7.0a is recommended for Windows 95 or 98 operating systems and offers the following graphic enhancements: better animations in 3D environments, also superior real-time action, much more realistic "surround" sound, etc. We can come to the conclusion that DirectX is made for people who exclusively use their computer to play but not. It is not limited only to "gamers" but it is almost essential for any type of activity in our computer, because every application makes use of graphics, to a lesser or greater extent.
DirectX permanently modifies the computer's registry, this is not negative but, if you are not interested in modifying the base code for any reason it can be an important data since any other version of DirectX will overwrite the previous one.
